Updated my What's Hot Page

I hadn't checked in on this page for quite a while, so I updated it tonight...

I've added The Tipping Point, Blow Fly, and Angels and Demons to my READ list.

I've added the DVD's for Saved!, Connie and Carla, and of course, Farenheit 9/11. Which, if you haven't seen it yet... what's the matter with you? That movie made me so mad I couldn't see straight... not mad at Michael Moore, the movie was amazing, but mad at the media, and mad at those in charge of our daily lives. If only half of what Michael Moore says is true, we are in deeper shit than I ever imagined.

In the Listen column, you'll find Queen Latifah's new album, "Dana Owens" which leaves a little bit to be desired, as far as a couple of performances go... but overall it's great, and I really want to support her decision to record some of this music. I have been saying for years that she needed to do a jazz album. I saw her perform "My Funny Valentine" on the Tonight Show a long time ago and was blown away... and then of course, there was her performance in "Living Out Loud" that showed exactly how great her talent is.

Also in the Listen column are two new artists that I have been completely taken with. Marc Broussard has got this deep earthy soul-filled voice born in the bayou. Powerful performances make this a must-hear. And finally, my favorite new artist of the summer, Michael Tolcher. Smart songwriting, catchy melodies, and knock out performances. It's great. I truly love every song on the album, though Taxi Ride Kinda Night ends very strangely and I haven't decided that I like it.

Well anyway, there's that part of the update. I'll write more later, including showing a picture of the newest addition to our family.
